Join the Corporate Accounting and Reporting (CA&R) team and support the preparation of consolidated IFRS reporting for JTI. In this role, you will help deliver high-quality and timely financial tax accounting and corporate reporting for management and the parent company.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Effective Tax Rate (ETR) process, performing quarterly excise tax reviews, and providing technical IFRS support to the tax, pension, treasury, and wider Corporate Accounting teams. The role also acts as a tax accounting specialist for selected projects, reviews standalone entity IFRS books, and supports the broader Finance community with ad-hoc initiatives.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting and analytical skills, a solid understanding of tax accounting within IFRS, and the ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment. This position requires collaboration across functions, attention to deadlines, and the flexibility to work in a demanding environment.

SUPPORT THE ETR REPORTING PROCESS
- Be one of the main contacts for entities designated as out-of-scope entities, regarding direct tax accounting
- Prepare the 1991 ledger and Deferred Tax movement files for every quarter close
- Own the process for Right of Use (ROU) deferred tax accounting for entitiers other than scope A and B entities
- Ensure that no audit adjustment is raised by the external auditors
- Propose Enquiry Desk replies to queries received from entities regarding the above
- Own the direct tax accounting updates in the Standalone IFRS manual
PERFORM THE EXCISE TAX REVIEW PROCESS AND OTHER RELATED INDIRECT TAX REVIEWS
- Understand the excise tax set-up of assigned entities and perform quarterly (or monthly if an issue is identified) reviews of their excise tax position
- Perform the Market Brief review (for Excise tax and VAT) during quarter close
- Where issues are identified, propose corrective HQ journals and work with stakeholder to impove the process going forward
- Perform VAT and other indirect tax reviews
- Write necessary position papers and slides for the group auditor and senior management
- Propose Enquiry Desk replies to queries received from entities regarding the above
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING REPORTING
- Review Standaloane Entity IFRS books and support entities in the process
MANAGE JSOX COMPLIANCE FOR TAX
- Perform / review the controls as specified in the J-SOX Global Reference Model; b) Perform all assigned controls accurately and timely
OTHER AD-HOC PROJECTS
- Draft position papers on tax (IAS 12) and other (e.g. pension, provisions etc) accounting issues by doing some technical research under IFRS
- Assist the wider corporate accounting team and work cross-functionnally on various ad-hoc projects and queries
- Act as cover for several ETR and pension tasks in case of sickness during quarter / plan close period
- Act as the tax accounting specialist for any new tax accounting projects with wider impacts in the group
- Participate in any other projects (isolated or of global scope) arising in the team, as necessary
- University degree in Finance
- Chartered / certified accountant
- Qualified with a public accounting firm, preferably Big Four (3-5 years experience) or other accounting firm of similar size
- Experience in a consolidation/reporting function is an asset
- Experience with tax accounting is an asset
- Fluent English communication abilities, both written and spoken
- Ability to analytically review accounting system data (SAP is preferable)
- Financial accounting experience (IFRS or US GAAP knowledge is preferable)
- MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at a minimum), advanced level (basic knowledge of macros is a plus)
- Strong communication skills
