Tax Manager
This is a standalone role, not involving team management, suitable for someone who enjoys a combination of operational responsibility and advisory work, and who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure full transactional compliance and reporting in the areas of VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), and Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
- Supervise the preparation and accuracy of JPK VAT filings.
- Ensure timely collection and management of WHT certificates.
- Lead or support ad hoc tax projects and provide technical expertise on complex tax matters.
- Act as the main point of contact for external tax advisors and coordinate communication as needed.
- Deliver tax reporting to the group.
- Perform control checks to identify any tax errors or anomalies, and initiate corrective actions in collaboration with financial teams.
- Provide support for tax reviews and statutory audits.
- Support and guide internal stakeholders on the correct tax treatment.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, proactively evaluating their impact.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to complete and verify tax documentation.
- Identify and initiate improvements to existing processes, and lead or participate in tax-related optimization or automation projects.
- Lead the reconciliation of tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Requirements:
- Minimum 9 years of hands-on experience in tax (VAT, CIT, WHT), preferably in a multinational or dynamic business environment.
- Proven track record in managing tax compliance and reporting processes.
- Strong knowledge of Polish tax regulations and practical experience in tax control.
- Experience working with external tax advisors, vendors, and auditors.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Very good command of both Polish and English.
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Tax advisor qualifications will be considered an asset.
